Foley & Lardner LLP, a national law firm with roots in Milwaukee, is celebrating its second year of partnership with its adopted school, Wisconsin Conservatory of Lifelong Learning, 1017 N. 12th St.
Foley & Lardner marked the anniversary last night, Aug. 1, by hosting a school “supply store” at the WCLL, providing students with backpacks filled with school supplies for the new year.
This partnership marks the first time a professional services firm has connected on this scale with an MPS school to provide support and resources.
Foley & Lardner has also hosted a winter clothing drive, a history lesson for students from the 40th floor of the U.S. Bank Building, field trips to the Milwaukee Zoo, post-high school and career planning and more.
When school starts on Monday at this year-round program, MPS Superintendent Gregory Thornton and school board members will join students for lunch.
“This new school year we are expanding our efforts to build college and career readiness and continuing our implementation of bold reforms aimed at improving academic achievement, operating more efficiently and supporting our families,” Thornton said.
