This morning, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee announced that it will unveil the new Time Warner Cable Learning Lab at the Daniels-Mardak Club, located at 4834 N. 35th St., on Milwaukee’s North Side.
The new learning lab – which includes computer science programming, math programming and the incorporation of brand new tablets and computer updates – will be formally unveiled at a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programming comes as a part of Time Warner Cable’s Connect a Million Minds initiative, a five-year, $100 million cash and in-kind philanthropic initiative to address America’s declining proficiency in these four key subjects.
The lab is expected to help serve 400 Boys & Girls Club members this year.
