MPS school receives national recognition
Milwaukee Public Schools’ Frederick J. Gaenslen School, 1250 E. Burleigh St., has received a national award.
Gaenslen won the Project Lead the Way’s (PLTW) Gateway to Technology National Recognition for its commitment to PLTW’s rigorous program, which connects math and science curriculum to hands-on engineering and technology projects.
The K-8 school in Riverwest offers the Gateway to Technology pre-engineering program to its middle-school students, as well as incorporating a science and technology focus in all curriculum to prepare students for a global workforce. Gaenslen also offers an “engineering wam-up” to its 5th grade students.
