Riley Elementary kids rap: “Baby, I’m From Milwaukee”

Last month I told you about Chicago rapper Psalm One coming to Milwaukee as part of the ASCAP Songwriter Residency at America SCORES to write a song with kids at MPS’ James Whitcomb Riley Elementary School on the South Side.

She came, they wrote and they headed Downtown to record their tune, “Baby, I’m From Milwaukee” – which references the Domes and bubblers, among other things Cream City.

There are two videos, which are similar but feature different interviews with Riley kids.

The song will appear on an upcoming CD that will collect the songs Psalm One records with school kids across the country as part of this year’s residency.
