Today I got this statement from MPS:
“There is to be a candlelight vigil at Lincoln Avenue School, 1817 W. Lincoln Ave., on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. This vigil will be near the playground, which is located on the north side of the school.
“We are sharing this information with you at the request of the mother of Keshaun Wasserman-Davis. Keshaun was a student at Lincoln Avenue. He died, along with his aunt, Amanda Wasserman, in a house fire last week.
“Keshaun was 10 years old, and in grade 5 at Lincoln. His mother requested the ability to host a candlelight vigil at the school where he had made so many friends, and also asked MPS to share the news of the event.
“It is our understanding that the vigil will take place no matter what the weather conditions on Wednesday evening.”
We send our deepest sympathies to Keshaun’s family and his friends.
